Actors Theatre of San Francisco Performance Workshops feature the finest traditional method training available in the Bay Area. Instruction includes teaching based on the work of Konstantin Stanislavsky, Sanford Meisner, Michael Chekhov, Bobby Lewis, and Lee Strasberg, as well as from the instructor's own mentors: Stella Adler, Harold Clurman, Wendell Phillips, and Jean Shelton. Award-winning actor and director Christian Phillips has combined the vast knowledge of these past masters into a fully contemporary technique for all mediums that provides actors with powerful emotional life and cinematic believability. The workshops are held in a scene/monologue performance format. The workshops support Actors Theatre of San Francisco both as a script laboratory and in developing actors trained to fit seamlessly into ATSF ensembles. Expertise regarding the business of acting is shared, as is encouragement and focus on working as professional actors.
